Guidelines
From Wiki
LessThanDot is a free online community for anyone interested in IT to share information and ideas with each other and the resident experts in order to develop shared knowledge.
There are a few guidelines you should follow when posting to the forum. Posts that violate these simple rules will be removed to a reserved area and you will be informed of the way in which your post was found to transgress. Inappropriate posts are those that are off-subject or contain advertising, pornography, obscene material, racist material, bigotry, threats or illegal acts, etc. In addition, posts and posters who reveal personal information on others may be removed.
We hope that you will help us to maintain an orderly and helpful community by pointing out posts that you believe to have violated our rules. However, we want this site to be fun to visit, so please do not take offense at minor transgressions.
These guidelines are intended to promote better posting. They may be revised without notice. This is a privately owned, not-for-profit site and posting privileges may be revoked for persistent offenders, in serious cases, individuals may be permanently banned.
Please ...
- Think before you post. Carefully thought-out questions are easier to answer, similarly, reasoned, informed and well-written replies will benefit everyone.
- Be professional, do not use inappropriate language and do not attack fellow members. There are places here to have fun, if you want to unbutton your collar, keep to the fun sections.
- Use common sense, not all posts have suggestions that are suitable for every environment. Make sure you know what code snippets do before you try them. Need we mention back-ups?
- Stay on topic and post in the appropriate forum.
- Use a descriptive title.
- Do not post the same question more than once, unless someone suggests it.
- Don't post another member's phone number, address, or other information that the person hasn't already made public.
- Remember that help is freely given, so do not get impatient. Similarly, remember that ignorance is curable, so try to inform, rather than criticize.
