Forum : Awards & ranking system
From Wiki
Here at Less Than Dot we understand the importance of recognition for our members. Most of our members put a lot of effort into the community by answering questions, writing blogs or articles and generally helping others. So to recognise their efforts and help other members appreciate the quality of the responses and content they see on the site, the following awards/ranking system has been put in place.
Activity Recognition
To reward activity on the site, we measure the number of posts a user has made and award a "Rank" as follows:
| Rank | Name | Number of Posts |
|---|---|---|
| | Newbie | 0 |
| | Apprentice | 5 |
| | Senior Apprentice | 50 |
| | Sage | 250 |
| | Senior Sage | 1,000 |
| | Guru | 2,500 |
| | Senior Guru | 5,000 |
| | The Oracle | 10,000 |
Special Ranks
In addition to the automatically assigned posting ranks, there are also some special ranks which are awarded by the LTD Administration Team in special scenarios. These are detailed below:
User & Topic Medals
As Quantity doesn't always reflect Quality, we have also included an awards system for the quality of content. This is through optional rating features against each post. When a user posts some content, you can rate how useful this is -either to yourself or others. This can be a rating of 0, 1 (good) or 3 (very good) for all users and the Original Poster can vote 10 (excellent). You can change your rating at any time - though please note that all ratings for a post are visible for others to see, so keep the ratings as honest and accurate as possible.
These ratings are used to rate the individual topic/thread and also the user - each of which are awarded medals in the following way:
